Been there just last month. My old Sony Bravia (as old as yours) was not cutting it either. I ended up with an OLED from LG. I walked back and forth in the showroom comparing LG to the Samsung. LG won by a hair IMO. Got a new sound bar too! This TV is much bigger than my old Bravia. So now I see the actors pores up close!

Sounds like we were in the same boat. And I would have gone LG if not for my glare issue. I definitely like their reliability track record.
